Science of Magic
What does magic have to do with science?
It's simple, magic IS science. Magicians, just like everyone else, can't break the laws of nature or do the impossible. What they can do is use science to make it look that way. Magicians need to know science to make their tricks work.
Some of the science concepts we use for these magic/science tricks include:
- Inertia - objects at rest, or objects moving in a straight line at constant speed, will stay that way unless acted on by a force
- Centripetal Force - any push or pull that forces objects moving in a straight line to move in a circular path.
- Polymers - long, strong chains of molecules that make up plastics, paper and other interesting stuff.
- Gravity - the irresistible force of the earth (or any other big thing) to pull stuff down.
- Bernoulli's Principle - slow moving air has more pressure, or force, then fast moving air.
So find a magic wand and gather an audience - it's time to do some science magic!
